The introducing needle and catheter gauges are closely matched,which greatly reduces blood loss from the insertion site. Polyethylene catheter material is strong and supple and very gentle on the vein wall. The catheter has a winged hub for suture fixation for added security. The catheter and guide wire are closely matched.Catheter tip is tapered and passes freely into the lumen of the vein. The flexible guide wire tip ensures true passage into the vein and eliminates the risk of transfixation.
