LifeCath Midlines are Flexane® (thermosensitive polyurethane)catheters, which offer firmness for ease of insertion,but soften to silicone-rubber feel when in the vein. Flexane® has a very smooth surface, which reduces the risk of fibrin build-up and thrombus formation.
As with the LifeCath PICC, the LifeCath Midlines feature an integral extension, which automatically removes the handling of the catheter from the insertion site, reducing the risk of catheter-related infections. |
