PVC / PUR Dual-Flow Tubes Codes: 340/1340
Dual Lumen Sump Tubes
Description – A double lumen sump tube comprising a principal suction lumen with multiple eyes at the distal end, and a secondary ventilation channel with a smaller cross section, that communicates with the main suction lumen at the distal tip. The main channel lumen is fitted at the proximal end with a flexible female conical mount.

Function – The principal green-colored channel is connected to a suction apparatus, the secondary blue-colored passage is open and maintains the suction site at atmospheric pressure. The flow rate may therefore be maintained at optimum levels with continuous suction, without causing trauma to the gastric mucosa. Supervision is much simpler as suction is more efficient, but less problematic.

A radio-opaque line for radiographic location runs the length of the tube. The most proximal of the suction eyes is positioned to break the continuity of the line thus enabling the area undergoing suction to be easily identified by reference to this break in the line and distal tip. A biconical adaptor is provided to increase the choice of possible connections.

Tolerance – The tube is composed of a polymer that remains flexible after long periods of contact with the gastric contents. Gastric tolerance is therefore much greater than with conventional tubes that rapidly become rigid.
NeoSump Gastric AspiratorCode: 5382
The NeoSump is a thoughtful addition to the range of sump tubes since it includes all of the benefits of the dual lumen sump tube, together with a helpful collection trap. This trap enables accurate measurement of the volume aspirated from the stomach, and we provide an additional top to the trap to ensure secure lab specimen sampling.
