Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Primary responsibilities for the production supervisor are as follows:

  • Develops and implements production policies and procedures
  • Delegates manufacturing tasks so that the team can meet production targets
  • Manages the efforts of manufacturing workers on the production floor
  •  Communicates expectations to production workers and appraises their performance
  • Educates production team members about preferred occupational health and safety practices
  • Establishes priorities to ensure manufacturing team works efficiently
  • Checks manufacturing equipment and control points to ensure efficient workflow is maintained
  • Addresses production problems as they arise
  •  Organizes for the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment
  • Evaluates new production equipment
  • Reports on team performance to production manager
  • Makes recommendations about ways to improve employee efficiency and reduce costs
  • Trains new production workers to perform their duties
  • Coaches, counsels and disciplines production employees
  • Implements recommended manufacturing cost reduction strategies
  • Nurtures cooperation and communication within production team and other departments

Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree.
3-5 years of experience in a production environment.

West Regional Sales Manager

Job Summary:   The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for selling and promoting company products within the defined regional territory (West Region, Including and west of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico) by developing new accounts and expanding usage of company products by current accounts to meet a sales quota based on company sales goals and to directly increase sales revenue of the company.   In addition, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day sales function for their assigned Sales Representatives.  This position reports directly to the V.P. of Sales and Marketing.

Essential Functions:

  • Sells products by scheduling sales calls to meet with current and potential customers to fulfill revenue and unit growth objectives assigned by company on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Direct supervisory responsibility for regional sales representatives.
  • Develops and implements sales strategies by determining the relevant factors (e.g., product, competition and pricing needs) of existing and potential accounts to effectively promote the company’s products to appropriate hospital personnel and physicians.
  • Develops action plans (i.e., weekly, quarterly, monthly) by analyzing quarterly and monthly sales figures and reports identifying the needs of accounts and discussing issues with Sales Representatives to help Vygon achieve its annual sales goals.
  • Determines the needs (e.g., product and pricing), goals, product usage, and types of cases handled by specific customers by meeting with and asking in-depth questions of physicians and other hospital personnel to learn which products can best address their specific needs.
  • Establishes pricing packages by working with Vice President of Sales to establish price points that address specific customer’s needs while satisfying company guidelines and policies.
  • Responds to customer needs and complaints regarding products and service by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g. QA and/or Marketing) to develop optimal solutions.
  • Help to develop relationships with hospital personnel to make new contacts in other departments within hospital and to identify key purchasing decision makers to facilitate future sales for the Sales Representatives.
  • Educates customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms (e.g., slides, transparencies, manuals) to secure purchasing commitments, often with the help of incentive programs and services made available to the account being developed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience in the medical device manufacturing industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisor experience

  • Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
  • Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
  • Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license.

Environmental Conditions: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires significant local travel, up to 50%, as well as weekly overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
